ABOUT ME
Matthew Jacobs
VIDEOGRAPHER
I have been apart of the Film and Television Industry in NYC for over 15 years. I have worked on large blockbuster movies down to low budget films and a multitude of NY based television shows. I worked for years as a shooting grip, a dolly grip, and progressed my way to a Best Boy Rigging Grip on large productions. My team and I create solutions for lighting a scene in difficult situations and we make sure the camera can go wherever and do whatever the director of photography and director dream up. Although this work is technically challenging, it doesn't allow me an opportunity to tell a story. My passion has always been to tell a story, to accurately portray a moment on film. Out of this drive and passion, Ironworks Cinema was born! I now have the opportunity to share my extensive knowledge in the film industry and apply it to your story and event! From my ability to light a scene to placing the camera right where the moment demands it, this has all translated into a better story told on film! Ive also been lucky enough to be up close to observe some of the greats, like Martin Scorsese as he directs the actors and decides the motivations of the scene! All this knowledge culminates in a more cinematic experience.
